Louis Wu wins The Firestream Firefight!

  • We were able to play 4 great games of Firefight LIVE on TRR. Each player is sporting a cool Participant medal and [hc]Louis Wu[/hc] is now the sole owner of the Firestream Firefight WINNER medal! That's pretty much as cool as Reconz. Really.
  • Here are the 4 games played:
    • 18,819 with [hc]bs angel[/hc]
    • 17,160 with [hc]Insane54[/hc]
    • 20,337 with [hc]Louis Wu[/hc]
    • 18,370 with [hc]Jironmo[/hc]
  • Big thanks to everyone who watched TRR last night! It was a lot of fun, and a great chance to get to know some other community leaders out there. Also, thanks go out to Kete and InsaneFREAKBOY for their work on The Running Riot and for having us all back again for the event!

In other news...

  • A Halo news feed box has been added to the front page. The feed pulls from HBO's daily news posts.
  • A bug was fixed in country HCS ranks. Your rank probably went down though :(
  • The Game Finder by date has been improved to accept date ranges. Also, all columns are sortable now. Useful to find your best game in the last month, etc.
  • Raised the requirements of the Ground Support classification
  • SFX360 is holding a little contest and giving out some HC Supporter status! Check it out here...

New Site Theme by Essentre!

[hc]Essentre[/hc] put together a new theme for the site called "Red Fury". For Supporters, to switch to it, just go to My Account and choose the theme in the Theme Selector. Its a very slick looking red theme!

Also, I fixed some bugs related to Fall & Traffic Cone kills for both Halo 3 and ODST. I also fixed a glitch with Halo 3 medals earned percentage.

The Firestream Firefight!

It's payback time!

The Running Riot is taking a step back from the Live Podcast series to hold a special event.

Back in July, TRR interviewed Firestream from HaloCharts live and the broadcast did not record and it was lost forever. To make it up to him we are holding a LIVE event on Tuesday, November 17th 9:30pm ET called "The Firestream Firefight".

We will be broadcasting Firefight matches with some members of the Halo community you might know. The following gamertags may seem familiar to you:
  • bs angel from Hawty McBloggy
  • Insane54 from Forge Hub
  • Louis Wu from HBO
  • Jironimo from Ascendant Justice
Come over to The Running Riot on the 17th to tune into the live show and chat along with us!

Player Classifications!

  • There's a new system in place for Supporters called the Player Classification system.
  • Basically, as a player, you can be classified based on your skills in certain parts of the game. These classifications can be very useful to other players looking to setup the perfect team, etc.
  • Supporters will now see classifications that you meet on your player page. You can click any of these to see a list of players in that class.
  • There are only 6 classifications, each with 3 grades right now. More are in the works and will be added as they are finalized. A complete list of possible classes will be posted soon.
  • This has been in the works for a long time, and I couldn't have rolled it out without the help of the HC Classifications group and the active members in there!
Update: There is now a full list of available Classifications and their requirements. Here is a direct link, but a link to it has been added to the Halo 3 section up on the top navigation.

Skill Graphs!

  • I borrowed the Skill Graph from HaloSphere and set it up for Supporters so that you can see all of your ranked playlist skill graphs. The results are pretty interesting.
  • If you're a supporter, check out your player page and click Skill Graphs down in the list of charts.
  • I'm planning on making an 'all-in-one' graph that will be displayed on all supporter player pages in the future

  • Results for Sticktoberfest are almost ready to be shown. There's some big numbers!
  • Major armor changes in HaloSphere. Armor is now split into 3 pieces, each bought and equipped seperately.
  • There is a HaloSphere Score (HSS) and game ranking now
  • The top titles on the site will now be random sayings brought in from the community and staff. Should be some real gems up there from time to time. :)

Site Update: November 2, 2009
  • I *think* all of the Ranked Living Dead issues have been worked out. If you're a supporter, collect player data again and let me know if you have any issues still.
  • Added 3 new achievements to HaloSphere. If you're playing it though, please note that a stat reset is going to happen tomorrow, so don't waste your time on anything until then. The stat reset is necessary due to the number of glitches that were fixed, but lead to players having abnormally high stats.

  • HaloSphere is an interactive game that is being written and integrated into HaloCharts. It's a completely free & highly addictive game that you need to try out. It's still in BETA stages though, but we need more test players!
  • As the game is developed and improved, I want your feedback. So if you are interested in helping, please request to join the HaloSphere testers group and participate in the forum as you play. The game will remain in BETA for a while longer as the different aspects of gameplay are introduced.
  • Bug Fixed: I believe player page pictures will completely update now.
  • Bug Fixed: If you had trouble getting the correct armor to show up in Sigs, please try again now as this has been fixed.

Site non-Update: September 12, 2009

Nothing to report, Sir.

  • Absolutely nothing has been changed/fixed/updated recently.
  • I'm pretty much going into a standby mode until ODST is released.
  • Sometime in the next 10 days stat collecting is going to break due to the coming Bungie.net updates. When that happens, no new players will be able to be added to the site and no one's stats will update.
  • It will then take me a week or two to fix the stat collectors and get the ODST collectors running and then setup the new ODST player pages. After that, you'll start seeing leaderboards and other ODST stuff as I get it added to the site.
  • So anyways, hang tight, as a lot of things are going to get shaky around here around the time that ODST drops!

Site Update: September 2, 2009

Supporter Changes

  • There are now two types of supporters, but they have the exact same set of features. Yearly and Lifetime.
  • All existing Supporters have been made Lifetime Supporters!
  • All Supporters now have access to Halo Wars player pages!
  • All Supporters will have access to all future game stats and features for all upcoming games, like ODST and Reach!
  • The HaloWars Supporter status is no more, it is now just part of being a Supporter
The reason for the changes is to simplify the site in many ways and allow for all of the new stuff coming soon for ODST. The cost of becoming a supporter is $10 a year OR $20 for life. As I mentioned above, all existing supporters have automatically been made Lifetime Supporters. You do NOT need do donate again.

Also, being a Supporter of either kind gets you all of the additional features and content on the site. The only change is being a yearly or lifetime supporter. This also means you'll have access to ODST features when they come out. I do plan on having as much free ODST stuff as possible, but advanced charts and stats for supporters. I'll have more details on that later on.

Other Changes

  • The 2nd button bar that was setup for Halo Wars is no more. It has been merged into popup menus for the main bar. This allows me to expand the site for the other games also without cluttering up everything.

My Groups Dropdown Menu

  • For Supporters: There is now a drop down menu that will appear if you hover over My Groups. This allows you quick access to any group forums you are a part of.
  • The reason this is supporter-only is that the menu gets in the way with the google ads that appear for non-supporters. Its against the Google TOS to have the menu appear over the ads, so for that reason I cannot enable the dropdown for non-supporters.

HCS Glitch & Team Snipers
  • There was a fairly bad glitch in the HCS formula that involved the sniper headshot medal. They were being weighted much higher than some other more difficult-to-get medals. This has been fixed.

  • Its really up to you to decide what kind of content you want to have in your group. Make a page to better describe your group or its members. You could make a page to talk about upcoming group events or contests. You could even use group pages to create entire sub-sites as part of HaloCharts.
  • The possibilities are endless really. I'm excited to see how people use this system over time. Please let me know if you have any problems using it!

Group Layout Changes

  • To go along with the addition of Group Pages, I cleaned up the layout of the group system. There are now some common links across each part of a group.
  • The edit group icon has been fixed to show the correct icon
  • A Pages link has been added under My Groups as well as in the Group Forum bar.

Speed! Completely on new server.

  • I added a playlist filter to the Teammate Recommendation list.
  • The site is now running completely on the new server. Once DNS updates for you, you should notice the site loading faster than ever. I've already allowed for the Staff and Testers group to test out the site running on the new server and the results have been exceptional!
  • One side effect of the move is that player page screenshots won't show up until your page updates again. So if you're a supporter, go ahead and Collect Player Data again.
  • One thing that has sped up drastically is the Game Loader. 5000 games only takes minutes now!

New Referral Medal

  • When new people register on the site, there's a box where they can type in the tag name of the player that referred them. This has been on the site a long time, but I've never done anything with the data. Tonight, I setup a new award to give out to those that have referred players to register here.

New Server!

  • We have another new server to help out with speed!
  • Group, Country and State leaderboards have been turned back on
  • The EXP since TU2 leaderboard is back on
  • One side effect of this new server is that game data and stats collected today will need to be recollected. Sorry about that!

Site Update: July 23, 2009
  • Added a login box to the top of the site, if you aren't logged in
  • Made the player search box a little smaller
  • For Supporters, there's a new link on your page called Teammate Recommendations. Its down in the chart links list at the bottom of your page. Basically it lists out the 10 players you play the best and worst with, based on stats like winning percentage and k/d spreads. Its a best guess type of thing, but its still useful for finding out who to avoid when you play!

Site Update: July 5, 2009
  • The HCS change I made yesterday has been reverted almost completely. I left in one change I made, but its not something that will hurt your score, only help.
  • I have had comments in the past about counting multiple 50's into the formula, and while I'd love to do that, I can't without it being unfair to non-supporters. The only way I have an accurate count of how many 50's a player has is to look at all of their games which is currently only done for supporters.
  • Anyways, my changes shook up things too much. I had a lot of complaints during the night, so I see the error in my ways and have reverted to yesterday's formula plus one tweak. I'd love to be descriptive in why and what I changed, but its pointless now.
  • I do not plan on changing the formula again as its pretty impossible now to change it without shaking things up too much, and I certainly don't want a revolt!!

  • The MLG page emblems have been taken down for the moment. I need to have a better way of keeping up with who is actually an mlg pro and who isn't. The problem is all of the tag renames, etc, that happen so often with pro accounts.
  • Adjusted HCS some. :)

Playlist Leaderboard & Rank Changes

  • I've been working on a rewrite of the Playlist EXP leaderboards. The reason is mostly for performance, because the current way I'm doing the leaderboards and stats is slow and inefficient. I should be finished soon.
  • I'm actually done with the rewrite of the playlist ranks and leaderboards. There's probably a few bugs in there as its a complete rework on the backend to be faster. These ranks work like medal and weapon ranks, meaning that they update at night and only for the top 1000 for each playlist.
  • If you're in the top 1000 you'll see your rank on your player page. The ranks also link to the leaderboard now.
  • As usual, you'll see these changes after you Collect Player Data (Supporters)

Site Update: June 30, 2009

More Leaderboard Rank Changes

  • Ok, I had to do more changes to how leaderboard ranks are computed. Now, only if you are in the top 1000 for a weapon/medal, will the rank appear on your player page. The change involves computing the ranks at night, instead of during the day all day. Because of this, I'm only going to compute the top 1000 for each weapon/medal.
  • This change allows the site to cruise during the day without the slowdown of any rank calculations. It will also allow me to speed up the actual leaderboard lists (which are turned off until I finish the changes). It also allows for stat updates to happen faster.
  • If the rank appears on your page, you can click it to go right to the leaderboard (once they get turned back on)

  • All Games processed by 6/26/09 have been included in this update

  • We still have plenty of games to process for the next leaderboard update. We are also working to catch up on awarding player pages.

  • Campaign Challenge Leaderboards will begin closing...
If you want a spot on them, your opportunity is now. We will be closing one leaderboard every other week - starting with Sierra 117. On July 13th, we will close the leaderboard for Sierra 117 for good... So, want the top spot? Get on it... Once it's closed - it's closed for good. As mentioned, one leaderboard will close every other week; that means the Crow's Nest leaderboard closes July 27th.

  • That is all for now... Game on.

The GDubsMan Claims the Road to Recon!

Halocharts' Road to Recon Winner!

  • Antagonist Extraordinaire, The GDubsMan just capitalized on a golden opportunity to grab some new Spartan duds for his MatchMaking excursions... That's right, 'G' completed the entire Campaign Challenge and earned every possible award (60 of them to be specific); add to this the completion of 3 levels of Mythic Campaign and some seriously impressive carnage stats and it's easy to see how this guy deserves the grande prize of Recon Armor.
Congratulations GDubs... Go forth, and make us proud.

  • Special mention also goes out to Thug Naztyyy for his efforts in finishing out the requirements for Recon; unfortunately for Thug, GDubs edged him out by only 1 hour. Still very impressive performance by Thug during and after the contest... For his second place prize, Thug has been awarded 4,000 Microsoft Points.

  • Thank you to all the players who have been playing, still playing and soon to be playing Campaign Challenge.

Site Update: June 17, 2009

What the heck happened to HC?

  • I got a new server on Monday. I moved a couple of my smaller sites to it and then got this sudden desire to move HaloCharts over to it. I figured Tuesday was a good day to do it since Xbox Live was down and Bungie.net was down.
  • So slowly but surely I start moving all of the pieces of HaloCharts. The database is nearly 20gigs. All of the sigs and player pics end up being another 15gigs. The process to copy everything took about 15 hours and I wanted the site to be down while it moved so that nothing was changed. That part finished and all I had left to do was restore the database.
  • I started the database restore about 5pm last night. It was running pretty fast till about 10pm and then got slower and slower. I went to sleep (yes, I sleep) and woke up this morning expecting to have the database fully restored. Didn't happen. Sometime during the night, the restore decided to die and threw the server into a very non-responsive state. I didn't want to give up though...
  • So I checked on which tables had finished and which were left to go. Most of the big tables finished so I decided to do another backup of just the tables I was missing. Did that, copied it over and started the restore again. Same thing happened. Server just quit responding while it was restoring the database. I really couldn't stand for the site to be down anymore than it already had been so I decided to give up and go back to where we were.
  • So I came full circle, and HC is right where it started. I don't know now if I'll attempt to move it again or not. Its running pretty good on this box, but I'm sick of Windows. My hopes were to get back over to the new linux server and all be well, but that didn't happen.
  • Anyways, if you're still here and still reading this, sorry for the massive downtime. I don't plan to try anything like that again for a while.

Road to Recon Contest Update...

XBL Scheduled Maintenance Delays R2R Finale...

Due to XBL's Sceduled Maintenance, Halocharts' Road to Recon Contest will be delayed.

If you haven't heard already, XBL will be down on Tuesday, June 16th for up to 24 hours. While many don't expect the maintenance to take that long, we're not taking any chances... We are pushing out the announcement of the final Mythic requirements of the contest.

    Why delay you ask?
Well we obviously want to make sure the XBL team has time to finish up their work before we set the contest requirements in front of you guys... Well, there is that plus we don't feel like spending the time trying to research games and responding to players who attempted to complete and submit the final Mythic levels while no one on the planet had public access to the XBL servers... So, we're waiting...

    OK, So when then?
We're announcing the Mythic requirements for R2R on Saturday, June 20th at 12:01am Bungie Time (i.e. GMT -8:00). This should cover all the time the XBL server team needs and allows everyone here on Halocharts time to adjust themsleves afterwards.

That is all for now... Carry on.

Purple Reign

Halocharts' Community Elite

Halocharts has a lot of amazing people frequenting the forums and enjoying the many features we have to offer... still, there are some who stand a little bit taller at times and because of that, they have earned a completely different set of stripes. Say hello to Halocharts' Elite.

HC Elites are players who have been recognized for their participation, cooperation, and support of the community. A group of community members who have something in common without necessarily doing any one particular thing in common. Are they everyone's best friend? Probably not but they are cool in our book...

    So who is Elite?
Well you'll just have to look around to see for yourselves. It's not difficult to find them - marking them in the forum and chatbox with purple makes it pretty easy to pick them out of the crowd.

How does one get Elite status?
Believe it or not, there is a formula to this actually; however, that forumla is kept high up on the shelf right next to the HCS formula... There in plain site of everyone yet just out of reach. In other words, we're not telling you. We're planning to keep this one held pretty tight. You can't boost for it and even if you were to figure the formula out, the only change to purple you'll see will be your face in the mirror as you're holding your breath waiting for it to magically happen.

Several people have already been acknowledged; several more are on the way - well, we can only assume based on what we've seen. The only advice I can offer to those who want this status is keep up the outstanding participation on HC and be nice to others. Aside from that, be patient and look for opportunities to make the community even better; then of course, you'll need to act on those ideas and contribute.

    Elite for Life - FTW!
HC Elites have truly earned this status and it won't go away arbitrarily... that being said, common sense should remind us all that what is given can always be taken away. For those donning the new shade, it's yours to keep - or lose ;)

Congratulations to Halocharts' Elite! You've made us proud - keep up the good work and do your part to help others achieve this same status.

Site Update: June 11, 2009

Putting back on a few pounds

  • Player pages have been updated again to include a few more of the more popular charts (instead of them having their own seperate pages).
  • You will now see the daily kills vs deaths and weapon range charts on all player pages
  • The current plan is to allow supporters to choose about 10 leaderboards that they really care about and have the ranks for those show up on the player page. This isn't setup yet, but I wanted you to know about what I'm working on.

My Goals Sorting

  • You can now sort by the following columns on the My Goals section
    • Goal Date
    • Goal Progress (which is the default now)
    • Days in Progress
    • Days Left
  • This should make it much easier to see where you are heading and also goals that you'll never complete.

Halo Wars Stats Update

  • HaloCharts is now collecting stats for Keep Away, Tug Of War and Reinforcement. You should see additional details for those game types on your Halo Wars player page.

  • Due to popular demand, I put the playlist progression box back on player pages by default. I also put medal and weapon stats back on pages in an expandable form.

Site Update: June 9, 2009

More fat trimming...

  • I discovered the main cause of the site slowness. Basically, whenever supporters updated the collector would calculate ranks for each weapon and medal so that they could all be displayed on player page. This ends up being nearly 600 calculations per player, which put a huge strain on the database and server as time went on. I've completely disabled this from the collector and have removed the visible ranks from showing up on the Medal Chest Data chart and Weapon Breakdown chart.
  • I'm certainly not happy that it came to that as that was a pretty nice feature, IMO. However, looking ahead for the future, I have to have the site as fast as possible so that we can grow for Halo 3 ODST and Halo: Reach.
  • You can still view your rank for any weapon and medal by going directly to the leaderboard. As inconvenient as that is, the site is noticeably faster with rank calculations turned off.
  • Also, I've setup up pages on the leaderboards. I will eventually get to them all, but by default now you'll see 100 players per page instead of it being the top 500. The good thing about this is that the leaderboards will load faster and you can see way past the top 500.
  • The friends box on the main page will now display 5 links at random. This will keep it from being so tall and allow me to add new friend sites to the list.
  • There's still more fat to trim...
On a separate note, Boss Vos has been promoted to Admin of Leaderboard Purification because of his heavy involvement with helping keep the leaderboards clean of boosters and cheaters.

Trimming the fat

  • In an attempt to reduce page sizes and load times I've made quite a few changes to player pages tonight. First, I've removed most of the main stat boxes and put them down as chart links. This greatly shortens and speeds up player pages. None of the stats are gone, they are just moved.
  • Next, I removed some of the right-side boxes from the front page of the site. A couple are gone completely, but the rest are on a new boxes page that you can get to if you scroll to the very bottom of the front page.
  • There's been quite a few server hiccups tonight. I've been trying to fix them all, but there's still some problems left. The site might go up and down until I can get them all resolved.
  • More fat trimming will be coming soon...

Site Update: May 28, 2009

Non-supporter Stat Update Changes

  • I've made a few changes to the way non-supporter player pages update. If you are a non-supporter, in order for your player page stats to update now, you will need to be logged in and view your own page every 3 days. It will then update after it has been 3 days since the last update. In the past, anyone could view your page and if it had been at least 3 days since the last update, it would then update. This is no longer the case. This change will relieve the server load a good bit, which should help the rest of the site to maintain a consistent speed.
  • I reduced the file size on every header and a lot of the layout graphics by 40%. This should help with page loads as well as bandwidth usage.

  • If you are a supporter, you will now see your rank at the top of each and every weapon / medal leaderboard, even if you aren't in the top 500.
  • 4 new headers sent in from Halcylon

New Button Bar!

  • HC Redemption came up with the idea and graphics to revamp the main button bar you see when you are logged in. I really like what he came up with and have it setup now. The buttons in the forum will be replaced with a similar bar.
  • A Halo Wars update came out that shifted the ranks around some. I fixed our stats here to reflect the changes.

My Sigs, now with Weapons!

  • The Stat sig builder now supports the addition of weapon stats. You have 5 slots that you can with either a weapon stat or a medal stat. This should allow you more freedom than before.
  • For group owners, if you look at the Manage Ranks section, you can now see the last time a member of your group was active. The data is new though, so it will take a few days to be accurate. This will be handy if you want to clean out inactive members from your group.

To be eligible to score this one, you'll need to have at least one successful game submitted on each Campaign Challenge level that we've played up to this point (Sierra 117 through The Covenant).

Check out some of these amazing stats from our collective efforts during Campaign Challenge!

  • Games Recorded:

  • 1003

  • Legendary Solo:

Campaign Challenge: The Covenant

Halocharts & Friends Salute Bungie

  • As promised, Campaign Challenge has gone "Off the Charts". This installment of Campaign Challenge marks the seventh level of Halo 3 Campaign Play; to express our appreciation and respect to Bungie, we felt we'd show some love and make this challenge all centered around their favorite number... 7 is a key piece of this particular challenge. Seven friends from the Halo Universe have joined Halocharts on this little endeavor and have each offered a special challenge of their own... 7 challenges offered by 7 friends on the 7th level. Sounds like a healthy tribute to our beloved Bungie.

  • Special Thanks To All Involved

  • A big thanks goes out to all the level testers, graphic artists, game processors and other members of Campaign Challenge Staff who help pull these challenges together.

Also, a special thanks to all our friends who have joined us in making this edition of Campaign Challenge a truly special event!

  • bs angel from Hawty McBloggy

  • Predator5791, amazing screenshot creator

  • XerxdeeJ from Tied The Leader

  • Foman123 from Bungie.net

  • b12y4n 51m0n, Halo 3's music man

  • BSG Surgeon from Buddy System Gaming

  • and of course, Firestream...

Check out the Challenge Details here...

  • HC FendaBenda put together some slick How-to Videos for HaloCharts. I highly recommend checking them out.
  • I've setup a controller setup breakdown by skill chart set. That's a mouthful! Anyways, these charts show you controller settings for each skill range from 1 to 50 and an overall view also. Data is still coming in from players, but the charts are pretty slick so far. Notice all the high level players that use bumper jumper!
  • Fixed a big speed issue related to the Supporter Game Collector.

Weekly Contests Begin!

  • Boss Vos is going to be hosting a series of weekly contests for a while. Each contest will be something different and the prizes I have setup are pretty cool. You'll see more info on the first contest posted soon.
  • Tom323 made a suggestion to add an Xbox Live Gamerscore leaderboard, which turned out to be very easy to add. Go check it out!
  • All profiles now include controller information, including button layout, inversion and sensitivity. I've set these to required for the moment so that I can get a bunch of initial data. There will be some neat charts with this data.
  • POTD formula updated. I'm not going into detail on how its computed, but it should be more "fair" now.

  • The new ranks (if you have one) will show up on Signatures now.

Site Update: April 15, 2009
  • I was informed that the winning streak totals on player pages weren't always correct. I spent some time on that tonight and I think they are more accurate.
  • There are now two winning streak stats, one for ranked and one for social. They show up on supporter player pages.
  • You can now click on either of the winning streak stats to be taken to the list of games that make up that streak.
  • You will probably need to Collect Player Data for the social one to update and display.

Site Update: April 14, 2009
  • Added a K/D Spread column to all of the "K/D Ratio Per" charts. So for example, you can now see your overall K/D Spread for each playlist if you use the K/D Ratio Per Playlist chart. Other charts include, Map, Game Type, Month, Week.
  • Sweet new addition to the Game Finder By Date chart for Supporters. There are now lists of players played with & against on the date selected. If the player is tracked by HaloCharts, HCS and HC Rank will appear in the list. Check it out! Make sure you Collect Player Data and then you can click the date you last played on your player page or scroll down and click Game Finder By Date
  • I just want to say that I feel that the Game Finder By Date chart set is probably one of the most useful charts here on HaloCharts. I, personally, check it every night after I play to get a breakdown of how I did. So if you haven't tried it before, you should!
  • 6 new fonts for the Halo 3 Sig Builder! Thanks HC Clutchy!

  • Added a new game finder called the Medal Game Finder on Supporter player pages. It will return a list of every game where you received a specific medal!
  • Razr11 v2 suggested I add a Top 250 Worst Spread Games list, so I did.
  • New medals for being a Halocharts veteran!

  • Added 6 new headers
  • Now, if you have a leaderboard ban, you will be ineligible for the new ranks.

New Halo 3 Ranks!

Having played Halo 3 Matchmaking over the past year and a half has probably left many of you in the same boat as I, a Grade 4 rank without the ability to rank up, or an attachment to a rank that we do not want to leave behind.

Halocharts has introduced a system very similar to the actual Halo 3 Matchmaking structure. Actually, its an extension. Grades 5, 6, and 7, if you will. You can see how these ranks fit into the structure right here.

A closer look at the actual ranks and requirements can be seen here! These new ranks will soon show all over Halocharts. From player pages and forums, to Leaderboards and signatures.

So, if you have gold bars and are striving for that next milestone, only to find none, HaloCharts will give you a run for your money! Who knows, Grade 8’s and prizes may await!

Here are a few examples:

Also, if you do not wish to be a part of the new ranks, you can opt-out via a setting under My Account.

Site Update: April 10, 2009
  • Added [s][/s] BBcode for Strikethrough to the forums
  • Setup a new XML feed for player stats. On all player pages, at the top right of the main stats box, there is a link that reads XML. This will return many of the stats for that player in xml format. You can read in the xml on your own sites and scripts. Right now the XML is most of the major stats for that player. I'm working to add weapon/medal stats to it.

  • All Plasma Cannon leaderboards have been removed since its not in matchmaking and was only possible to get a kill with in the past by getting out of the Grifball court.
  • The sniper headshot leaderboard has been fixed to exclude players with less than 200 kills with sniper/beam rifle

New Prophet Excellence Awards & YouTube BBCode

Excellence Awards for New Prophets

  • Our new Prophets are armed with new Excellence awards and they're ready to use them... These are going to be highly sought after decorations the player page; like all other awards, you'll need to earn these.

  • New Youtube BBCode

  • Firestream is a pretty smart guy... He just created a way for us to place youtube vids directly into our posts rather than just linking vids that drag us away from our beloved Halocharts.

Now just because we can, doesn't always mean we should. Please keep the forum clean by making sure vids you post are appropriate and relative to the thread. While there will always be exceptions, in most cases the best place to post Youtube vids will be in the Videos Forum. Go there to read up on how to use the BBCode.

My Ignored Topics

  • HC TheBigL had a great idea to add an ignore option next to topics posted in the main forum and group forums. Basically, if you don't want to see a topic you can ignore it and it will go away from your main view and only appear in the My Ignored Topics list. Give it a try and let me know if there are any problems.
  • There's a new sig template if you are part of the HCPL
